We had a great 2005 year showing mules. Due to time constraints (kids growing up and wanting to play sports) and the high cost of fuel we didn't attend some of the fairs that we have been attending and would have liked to attend.
We came home from the Missouri State Fair with the following awards:
Grand Champion Mule

1st Place - Mare Mule 2 years
old 2nd Place - Mare Mule 2 years old 4th Place - Mare Mule 2 years old 5th Place - Mare Mule 2 years old 1st Place - Pair of Mules, 2 years old 2nd Place - Pair of Mules, 2 years old 1st Place - Mare Mule 3 years old 2nd Place - Mare Mule 3 years old 3rd Place - Mare Mule 3 years old 1st Place - Pair of Mules, 3 years old 5th Place - Mare Mule, 4 years old & over 4th Place - Pair of Mules, 4 years old & over 2nd Place - 4 mules any age, owned by exhibitor 4th Place - 4 mules any age, owned by exhibitor
3rd Place - Two Mule Hitch (Draft) driven by Jesse Birkenholz
3rd Place - Two Mule Hitch Lady Driver (Draft) driven by Leslie Birkenholz
2nd Place - Four Mule Hitch (Draft) driven by Larry Cumpton
2nd Place - Jennet 3 years old & over
1st Place - Jennet with Jack Foal 1st Place - Jack Foal
Jesse and Leslie also drove mini mules for Jeff Miller from Butler, Missouri and Kristi Miller from Kingsville, Missouri at the Missouri State Fair. They received the following awards:
Jesse -- 1st Place, Mini Mule, 50" and under, youth cart class
Leslie -- 3rd Place, Mini Mule, 50" and under, youth cart class
Leslie -- 3rd Place, Mini Mule Hitch, 50" and under, lady driver
